About Dr Ruyi Tong
Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and Owner
I firmly believe that quality matters. Quality is something to be experienced, such as an obvious improvement in speech clarity, greater independence communicating with others, and joy during mealtimes. I take pride in delivering quality speech pathology solutions elegantly by providing practical, evidence-based and culturally appropriate advice that addresses your concerns.
I qualified in 2005 with an honours degree in speech pathology from the University of Sydney. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of health workplaces in the disability sector in Singapore and Australia. I specialise in working with individuals with complex communication needs. Fascinated by the complexities of, and need for, collaborative teamwork to better support individuals with such needs, I pursued research studies with Curtin University in 2016. I obtained a PhD in psychology in 2022.
I chose to remain in clinical practice and academia (teaching and research) for the majority of my career. I believe that my presence in both sectors is an art, privilege, responsibility and service to clients, colleagues, and the speech pathology profession. My career choice reflects my commitment to provide you with quality speech pathology services that is delivered elegantly. You, therefore, can expect results by working together with our speech pathologists. We can deliver services in English and Mandarin (中文/普通话).
In addition to clinical work, I enjoy sharing my knowledge by teaching speech pathology students as a lecturer at a local university and by presenting my work through various forums (e.g., papers in journals, at conferences, public workshops and guest lectures) regularly. A full list of my research works can be found on my Research Gate (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ruyi-Tong) profile.
My promise of quality services extends to professional supervision. I am highly skilled in providing professional supervision to speech pathologists, as well as in providing consultancy services to allied health teams looking to enhance therapy service delivery efficiently and sustainably.
