Ian Thaver

I am a speech pathologist with close to four years of experience providing speech pathology services to teenagers and older adults under the NDIS. My experience includes dysphagia, dysarthria, aphasia, and other progressive physical and neurological conditions. I specialise in severe swallowing and dysphagia management and am passionate about helping clients enjoy their favourite foods and drinks through services such as dysphagia assessments and diagnosis, report writing, and mealtime management plans.

As a speech pathologist in the disability sector, I often work with individuals with severe dysphagia who are nil by mouth and receive nutrition through a PEG or NGT. Although these circumstances can be restrictive, eating is a social and communal activity. My mission is to help clients continue to enjoy the foods and drinks they love with the people they love, while maintaining a safe swallowing environment.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym and fishing.
